My mom moment is back in 2004 when I was fighting cancer and my husband had left and my son who was 5 entered a contest on a local tv station for a day of pampering and a new dress, and we were selected. It felt so good to have my hair (it was growing in) colored and a new dress and a massage. Best Mom’s Day ever!!!
Oh the tears…. Happy Mother’s Day. God bless you
My short and sweet Momma Moment: Getting to church was difficult growing up I my dysfunctional family, but Mama got us there whenever she could. In 1958 we made a confession of faith together and were baptised together on Palm Sunday. We “grew up” together in the faith. I so look forward to seeing her in heaven.
This is so very precious. Made my eyes leak. God bless you
The best Mommy moment for me was the birth of my great granddaughter. This is the family that I married into and I am so grateful to have a very strong relationship with my granddaughter, Faith. All thru her pregnancy, she would call both her Mom and I for the typical advice. When delivery time drew near I got a frantic call. “I can’t do this without you being here!” Her mother and I were both in delivery with her and when Miss Kenidi was born, the love in the room exploded. The OB brought the placenta over, turned it upside down and explained how the placenta is the Tree of Life, both in function and in appearance. That was 5 years ago and every day with Kenidi is a new adventure.
Oh this is so sweet. I had a home birth with my eldest daughter years ago, the midwife was Jewish and she did a similar thing. Two years ago I was present when my daughter gave birth to my first grandbaby. It was precious. Thank you for sharing. God bless you.
My adult daughter wanted the original recipe my mother wrote out years ago for her chicken and dumplings. I knew I had it put somewhere, but I couldn’t put my fingers on it! Finaly after looking in many cookbooks, I found it!
Little did I know reading it in her own handwriting, brought tears
To my eyes and remembering why she had written it out for me.
I had just gotten married and moved with my new Air Force Sergeant hubby to England for two years.
The separation was hard on my parents and I extremely homesick.
The writing is smudged and faded, but I could sense her care and details she gave me for preparing this family dish. At the very end she wished me luck!
When my daughter read it she told me she could just hear her telling me how to do it step by step.. She asked why she had written it out and of course I relayed the story.
It touched her heart almost as much as it did mine. I miss you Mom, Happy Mother’s Day!!!
This is so sweet. Thank you for sharing. My daughters often call me and ask for recipes. I didn’t have a grandma or mom that did these kinds of things so I am trying to mke my own memories. God bless you
One of my favorite “mommy” moments is also one of the saddest I had to live through. When my mom was diagnosed with cancer I sat with tears streaming from my eyes. My mom turned to me, looking me in the eyes, taking my hands and said, “Baby, I’m not afraid to die. I know Jesus and I know where I’m going.” I watched my mother live her faith out loud, front and center, during this season. It was so encouraging. She never once asked, why me, or said this is not fair. She praised God through it. My mom’s legacy is a powerful one that lives on in me.
If, I’m a winner, I have Present Over Perfect! Of course I need to read it! LOL!
Oh thank you for sharing this precious memory. God bless you
