Happy Friday!

Last night I attended a fundraising event for a local non-profit called A Woman’s Haven.  This was an inspirational evening featuring guest speakers Abby Johnson and Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Tebow.  After the event, they held a meet and greet for some of the guests.  I was so very blessed to be able to have a brief chat with both of the speakers as well as the founders and some of the staff of A Woman’s Haven.  This amazing ministry is something I plan on fully supporting in any way possible.

I have shared books by Tim Tebow before here at LifeVerse Books, but meeting the man himself was such a blessing.  His story was similar to our own regarding our son Noah, who the drs told us the “fetus would not be viable” and that attempting to carry him to term would only put my life at risk.   He also shared stories of the amazing things that the Tim Tebow Foundation is doing around the world.  This was such a blessing to listen to as John and I have experienced the devastation of human trafficking in our nearly 40 years on the mission field.  Tim Tebow is not only an inspirational author but a dynamic speaker as well.

Finally, I would like to share a bit about Abby Johnson,  I have to admit I knew her name but barely recognized her as we have lived in Mexico for so long.  I had read her book, Unplanned, when it was released but was not quite able to connect the dots to this energetic woman who passionately shared about the Prolife movement until I arrived home late last night.  (Quiet possibly due to such a crazy, long day at the hospital.)  If you would like to know more about some of the work she is involved in (as well as find ways to encourage, bless, and support) please follow this link:  Prolove.com

You know those moments when you are given an opportunity to do something and lean towards not doing it because you are exhausted and simply too busy to get involved?  I teetered with the decision of whether or not to attend this event for over a week because of my schedule and also knowing I wouldn’t have someone to come along with me.  I am so very grateful I overcame that feeling as the guests at my table were so welcoming and we had such a lovely chat.  As a matter of fact, I am looking forward to having lunch someday soon with my new friend from the event! Isn’t the Lord amazing in how He weaves lives together for His glory and grace?
