Shared about your ministry just now with a friend on IG and with others through email. I really appreciate the work you are doing with Life Verse Books! As for a favorite holiday, well, we love them all! I won’t say it is our favorite, but the build-up to Thanksgiving is especially enjoyable now that we live in Arizona. Late September is when we finally begin to see relief from the high temps. My wife busts out the fall décor and decorates the house to the hilt (pumpkins everywhere!). The highlight is certainly Thanksgiving, when we typically have an opportunity to host family from out-of-state, do a local 5k “Turkey Trot” to support charity, and get a bit more intentional about all that we have to be thankful for!

Favorite Family Holiday: This is always Christmas, even when we are separated by many miles. I always love to reflect on the times when we are together; looking at photos and remembering the fun we had making cookies, wrapping presents and unwrapping presents and eating a wonderful dinner! When my husband and I are by ourselves at Christmas we usually attend all the various services at our Church; and wish The Lord a happy birthday along with a great big thank you for coming into the world to save our sorry souls!

Just before moving fulltime into our motorhome for a new ministry of volunteering our time in our retirement by building and remodeling churches, my husband asked me what I wanted for Christmas. Since I am an avid reader I had so many books that would not fit in the motorhome, I had been researching Kindles, He bought me the one I wanted for Christmas. We have been on the road all over this great country for 7 years and love it! But, 7 years ago I also discovered your site! What a blessing! I look forward to getting the email each day and have to restrain myself sometimes.

My favorite holiday gathering is Thanksgiving. That seems to be the time when we can all get together. I have fond memories of Thanksgiving either at our house or my uncle’s house since we lived close. We swapped the place where we held the dinner. I remember big turkey and I got a leg that was almost as big as I was!
Favorite family holiday:
After losing both parents and a sister who ran off; that left a sister and a niece for Thanksgiving. Rather depressing. We decided to do something very different as a traditional turkey dinner just would be sad. God led us to rent a house on the beach in Galveston. We had a laid back Thanksgiving while being immersed in God’s beauty. We enjoyed each other’s company and wonderful family memories. God is so good – all the time.
One of our family holiday traditions was always Christmas Eve. We always went to my grandparents house growing up. And now we are a lot more spread out now and even though I live far away we always call or video chat on Christmas Eve and open gifts with my brother and his family and my parents.
One of my favorite family holidays is Christmas. We always try to do a theme. Themes are usually centered around a different country and how they celebrate Christmas. Ourmeal consist of the food traditionally served in that country at their Christmas dinner. My wife and I also make ornaments that have to do with that country’s Christmas traditions. We have done Germany, England, Mexico, Ireland, Kenya and many others.
