Good Morning Book Lovers!
It is a gorgeous Friday here deep in the heart of Mexico! This morning I can hardly contain myself because the weather is perfect for flying kites. I am a huge kite enthusiast and love pulling out my kites whenever I get the opportunity. What a fun it is sharing my love for kite flying with the children who beg for money or food along the lakeside.
The last time I took the kites out, two sweet little girls came along side me and began to sing for money. After their beautiful serenade, I taught them how to fly a kite. The joy on their dirty faces as they flew my huge mariposa (butterfly) was something I will never forget. When the wind died down, we pulled in the kites and shared some sandwiches I brought along.
I love kites almost as much as I love books and sometimes I am able to sit quietly and fly a kite in one hand while reading in the other however, and I have to be honest, I would give up a good read any day in order to bring a little joy to the lives of the poor, abandoned and abused. I love being able to do what I love. God is so good!
