Spread the Word!

Good Morning Friends,

I believe one of the lessons all of us are learning in these trying days is that this life we live is not a sprint. It is a marathon! In Hebrews 12:1 we are encouraged to “Run with patience the race that is set before us…” Again, in Hebrews 6:12, we read:

“We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised.”

Strong’s Concordance renders the Greek word used for patience as “longanimity, forbearance, fortitude.” Other related English words that derive from the root meaning are: “perseverance, grit, composure, diligence, restraint, endurance, poise, moderation, self-control, humility, fortitude, tolerance, persistence, acceptance, bearing, heart, stoicism, leniency, long-suffering, toleration.” WOW! What a list! May the Lord grant us all patience as soon as possible!

We can all thank God for the many testimonies of His faithfulness. With that in mind may I recommend:

“An Untroubled Heart: Finding a Faith That Is Stronger Than All My Fears” by Micca Campbell. As the 21-year-old mother of a baby boy, her world was shattered when she lost her husband to a tragic accident. Reeling from her loss, Micca feared for her future, and struggled to overcome her aching loneliness. Yet in her darkest moment, she discovered God’s remedy for our deepest fears. Micca presents a woman’s guide for living a carefree, worry-free life.

“I’ve read a quite few books on the subject of facing fear in God’s strength and I would say this is the standout.” (Reviewer)

“You will not be the same after you read this book. I would recommend this read to anyone, male or female.” (Reviewer)

“This is a book I will go back and read again. Amazingly helpful in my life. I used to stress to the point of getting sick. This book put everything in perspective for me.” (Reviewer)

“Woman to Woman: Candid Conversations from Me to You” by Joyce Meyers. Joyce Meyer is one of the world’s leading practical Bible teachers. A New York Times bestselling author, Joyce’s books have helped millions of people find hope and restoration through Jesus Christ. In this book she  speaks to women about many of the issues most pertinent to their lives, needs, and interests. Some of the included topics are: Living beyond your feelings, overcoming fear and insecurity, being wise with your words, establishing proper priorities, defeating negative circumstances, enjoying the favor of God.

“Joyce Meyer is my kind of preacher: strong, honest, no dancing around…This book is another great helper in everyday life. This book is filled with blessings.” (Reviewer)

“He Chose the Nails” by Max Lucado. The wood. The thorns. The nails. Christ’s sacrifice has defined the very essence of mankind’s faith for the past 2000 years. And now, Max Lucado invites you to examine the cross, contemplate its purpose, and celebrate its significance with He Chose the Nails. With his warm, caring style, Max examines the symbols surrounding Christ’s crucifixion.

“I have yet to read any Max Lucado book that I have not given 5 stars for. Wonderful book – especially during the Easter Season – such an appropriate time. If anyone doubts why Our Lord would chose crucifixion over the power of life – His life – then they should read this book.” (Reviewer)
