Good Morning Readers!
I hope and pray that you are well. First and foremost, I want to share this great book I am reading. I do not know about you, but I must read the book before watching the movie and I am determined to see Sally Field’s new movie Remarkably Bright Creatures. So, I grabbed the book this week and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I needed the diversion at this time.
On another note, many times over the past 40 years I have had people tell me that they couldn’t do what we have done, speaking of our family living and serving on the mission field. That being said, I feel the same way. Honestly, I do not know how you do it: juggle work, family and all the rest. These last four years have been so incredibly difficult. Hopefully and prayerfully, I won’t have to do this much longer, and we can be reunited and serve together in missions again. We are meant to go to Albania before my final surgery at the end of the year. I am looking forward to serving the women and children there at the shelter. Last year we brought many homemade quilts for them.
At the moment, we are going through the process of completing our Permanente visas. John and Noah will finalize their visas next month. This is a cost of around $3500. After Noah secures his, I will be able to start my process in July. This will mean an open-ended trip to Mexico and going through the visa process under his as he is a special needs adult. We had to do it this way because at the time I was obliged to remove our vehicle from Mexico. My visa process includes awaiting the Apostille on his birth certificate from the State Department of Maryland (where Noah was born), a trip to Mexico and then the costs and legal process of acquiring my visa. I will not be able to leave Mexico until the documents are in my hand. My costs are around $2500.
That being said, please pray with us not only for the provision but for the documents to arrive from the State Department in a timely manner. I may also have to receive a newer version of Noah’s birth certificate which would mean reapplying for the Apostille again and another wait time. This is all very uncharted ground as we are acquiring our Permanente visas under a special ruling due to when we were living in Mexico during the pandemic. We so appreciate your prayers during this whole process. Our wonderful neighbor and friend who works for immigration in Mexico is helping us navigate this and we are so very grateful for him. I must admit I am tired pulling extra hours at work and even picking up Instacart delivery on weekends when I am able. Thank the Lord that the end is finally in sight.
Thank you so much for your prayerful support. Please grab this sweet book, Remarkably Bright Creatures, and let me know your review.
