Fellow Lovers of God and Books,
The book of Psalms gives a wonderful description of those who seek after God:
“They will be standing firm like a flourishing tree planted by God’s design,deeply rooted by the brooks of bliss, bearing fruit in every season of their lives.They are never dry, never fainting,ever blessed, ever prosperous.” (Psalm 1:3 ~ Passion Translation)
“Brooks of bliss.” I like that! The reality conveyed here is adventure, rest, refreshment and joy, all wrapped up in one place. Like trees, all we need to do is extend our hands upward to God and root ourselves in His promises!
For me, books are like that. As busy as I get, going here and there, the time I take to tap into God’s promises as I peer as through a prism the pages of good Christian books is golden.
My prayer is that today’s list will be that “brooks (books?) of bliss” experience for you, providing the same sense of adventure, rest, refreshment and joy that is described by the Psalmist.
