With all that has been happening on our world–and there is so much to be concerned about–we have an opportunity, like never before, to pray. Prayer changes things! It is the God-ordained means by which we, the Bride of Christ, can be involved with what Jesus is doing in the earth. John Wesley once wrote, “God does nothing except in response to believing prayer.”
I once had a student challenge that, declaring that God doesn’t need us to pray. He does what He wants to do regardless. To which I replied “He may not need us to pray, but He wants us to pray. Is that not not enough to motivate you?” God. in His sovereignty, has ordained prayer as a means of grace to change the world. We get in on this glorious activity with every word we declare before the throne of grace!
