What a wonderful day to celebrate National Poetry AND National Storytelling Day! If that doesn’t give you something to celebrate, today is also Do Something Nice Day! Today is also National Depression Screening Day. This is a tough subject for a lot of us, but it is an important one. For years I struggled with depression due to some traumatic incidents that occurred in my life. The guilt I felt because of being in the ministry made me hide it, then one day it was too much for me. Praise the Lord it is a chapter well behind me. Authors such as Joni Eareckson Tada and Sheila Walsh were instrumental as they openly shared their stories and how the Lord helped them through those difficult times. People tend to struggle more with depression during the winter months and the holiday are upon us, therefore it is all the more important to stay on top of it. I am sharing a brief (and very popular) article I wrote a few years ago on the FaceBook Page. Please take a moment to read it through as it may help you or a loved one. Finally, if you are hurting emotionally or in any other way, seek help PLEASE.
